Stichting Klamuze, Final concert season 2021-2022
Sunday April 24, 2022 will be the final Klamuze concert for the season 2020/2021. It promises to be a swinging closure with a hint of classical music.
The last concert of the Klamuze season 2021/2022 is dedicated to jazz music. None other than Peter Beets & Henk Meutgeert provide the musical interpretation. The collaboration of Peter Beets and Henk Meutgeert was honored in 2010 with the Jazz Edison for the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw. Now they further develop their successful collaboration as founders of the Peter Beets & the Henk Meutgeert New Jazz Orchestra with Meutgeert as band leader and Beets on the wing. They play original compositions and arrangements by Henk Meutgeert. It is big band jazz in its original form, groovy, modern and contemporary, but with clear roots in jazz history and even influences from classical music.
Musicians
Peter Beets – piano
Henk Meutgeert – band leader
New Orchestra – 18-piece big band
Peter Beets
Peter Beets is recognized worldwide as one of the greatest jazz pianists of all time. Thanks to his successful performances and his favorite adaptations of classical music, his audience has grown into a permanent crowd of loyal fans.
Henk Meutgeert
Henk almost always arranges himself, and has the necessary compositions to his name. Henk was never limited to one style of music, but to the freedom to integrate jazz, classical and world music. Much contemporary music is inspired by classical music.
